Okay, nowadays, we have television programs about physicians] falling in love. We have {TV shows about females who can talk to ghosts and communicate with lifeless matters. We have television programs about a group of people stuck in a deserted land full of baffling and shocking mysteries. And we have television shows regarding supermen starting to grasp their otherworldly abilities.
Definitely, we have TV shows about the fantastic.
What we don't have are television shows regarding high fantasy.
All of this is about to transform with the introduction of Legend of the Seeker.
Centered loosely on Terry Goodkind's bestselling series of fantasy stories, the Sword of Truth, Legend of the Seeker conveys the account of Richard Cypher - played by Craig Horner - who is an adolescent woodsman in a place divided into two main areas. Richard is from the peaceful and simple area named the Heartlands, which is guarded by magical borders from the rest of the world, called the Midlands.
One day, the margins were broken, and the Heartlands was invaded by all means of wickedness, wielding magic the likes of which the Heartlands has never seen previously. These evil forces are controlled by a tormentor who lords over the Midlands and who has put his eyes on the Heartlands, Darken Rahl - portrayed by Craig Parker.
The breaching also brought in the strange Kahlan - played by Bridget Regan - a young girl who have great enchantment. Richard encounters Kahlan and the former informs her of his fate, that he is ordained to be the great conqueror named the Seeker who is believed to be the redeemer of the everything as it shatters.
Hesitation and a search for self-discovery follows suit, culminating in the finding of a legendary relic, the Sword of Truth, and the birth of the hero of this story.
Certainly, the tale may not sound novel, given the reality that the same concepts have been utilized in many fantasy books, video games and comic book series in the past. But this is one of the rare times when a primetime television series will deal on such notions and plots, and such ought to excite viewers from all over the world who have long yearned for dungeons and dragons and dastardly villains on their small screens.
